Holding space is not just what we do in therapy or sacred experiences - it’s a way in which we meet ourselves and one another

Holding space - it’s not just what we do in therapy or journeys - it’s the way we tune into ourselves and one another.

Holding space is how we genuinely, wholeheartedly meet ourselves and one another. With a deep, grounded presence. Listening with compassion. Surrendering judgment and shame. Allowing what is, as it is.

When someone meets us in this way, we feel relaxed to let our emotions flow and speak what’s on our mind. We give ourselves permission to be as we are without explanation or excuses. Without trying to fix or adjust. We may find better understanding and expression that allows us to soften and expand into other areas.

We allow curiosities and contemplation that help us dive deeper. Relief sweeps in, meaning surfaces. We discover the unknown, feel more connected. Perhaps we simply just feel in the moment and find peace and harmony that’s always there.

When someone can truly hold space in this way, it’s often an innate gift, a muscle strengthened through our inner-work. The more we can deeply and honestly know and hold ourselves - in all our parts with compassion - the more we can offer the same to others. This begs us to look at our shadows - the unknown/unseen parts of us -to understand our mechanisms.

Through self-devotion, we learn how to regulate ourselves and remain grounded in tough situations. We embrace our uniqueness and embody our power. And overall, we cultivate a relationship of self-love, acceptance, and compassion. Then when we holding space for someone and difficult emotions arise for either person, we can stay grounded and continue to hold that space.

When others are experiencing joy and celebration, we can be happy alongside them. When they are grieving, we can offer them to take up as much space as they need to feel and move that grief. When they are struggling to express themselves and find their answers, we can gently guide them through presence and subtle words.

Holding space is an art.

It’s a presence that allows us find our own advice and answers.

That’s what makes it sacred!

We feel seen, held, witnessed in ways we’ve always wanted but never really had, and can discover beyond imagination.

It's wildly liberating and empowering.

This is how I show up for my clients, where I hope they feel relentlessly themselves, safe and courageous to express, explore and discover.

I hold space in a way the mushrooms and nature have for me, in my deep journeying, self-studying and self-healing.

Inviting me in, embracing me with love, rooted to Mother Earth.

No rushing, no questioning, no judging.

Just accepting me as I am and supporting me in where I want to go.

Reminding me there is no limit!
